CHILDREN’S
DEVELOPMENT
CENTER
978-

Children’s Development Center is located in a wing of the United Methodist Church at 391 Bay Road (Route 1A), South Hamilton. The facility includes five bright spacious classrooms with carefully designed spaces for tabletop activities, arts and crafts, sand and water play, music and movement, block building, housekeeping and dramatic plays, puppetry, book area, science center, etc. We also have the use of an oversized gymnasium for indoor recreation during inclement weather which compliments our large outdoor play area.
Children’s Development Center has a highly competent, professional staff dedicated to early childhood education. All of our teachers hold degrees in early childhood education and have a minimum of five years teaching experience with young children.
Our curriculum is based on the belief that children learn best when they can experiment
with a variety of learning activities and materials. It is said that play is the
young child’s work, and through play he/she does his/best learning. Each child’s
activity level and interest are our guide as we work individually or in small groups
on skill building activities. Our curriculum meets the sequential and developmental
needs of our children and follows the Department of Education Program Standards.
Careful consideration has been given to the learning materials provided within the
framework of an organized yet flexible schedule. Some examples of what children
will be involved in are: block corner, sand/water play, house-
